Artistic View

Thomas' southern roots are evident in his clay house sculptures and clay

house landscapes.  The realism of the works pulls the viewer back in

time before electricity and indoor plumbing. Although Thomas explores a

single idea through the clay sculptures, each house in the Southern

Hospitality Series is complete  in and of itself.

In Serenity Thomas creates a peaceful union between

woman and nature. The woman relies upon the

tranquility of her surroundings in a therapeutic manner.

Thomas does more than record nature in Rose River, he

embellishes it in a surrealism unique to his artistic vision.

The flowing waters create a serene environment.

In The Only Ones Thomas

captures the viewer's

attention through colors and

textures that recede and

advance from the canvas.

Reflection of the past, acceptance of the present, and anticipation of the

future are captured in Mahogany Metropolis.  This sculpture is made up

of over 1.5 million pieces of cut wood.  It stands 12 feet high, 7 feet wide

and 22 feet long.  This architectural configuration took over two years to

complete.  Thomas rendered each detail with microscopic precision.
